Alternative Governance & Climate Change

Picture
This project explores the dynamics of nonstate actors as governors over issues related to environmental hazard and climate change.  It examines governance related to both slow-moving and rapid environmental hazards.

     Central research topics include:
  • how different actors contribute to or impede climate governance
  • how actors compete or cooperate as governors in this space
  • how connections between actors impact actors’ legitimacy and authority
  • how civilians interact with actors and attribute responsibility (negatively or positively) for climate hazard management
